“Wiccan”
The worlds of comic books are vast, with a continuously growing list of characters and superheroes. Each one is unique in abilities, characteristics, and back stories that make them more relatable to the reader. No doubt everyone can find a character in the Marvel Universe that they can relate to. For myself, this character is “Billy Kaplan / Maximoff,” better known as “Wiccan.” Since he is still not as popular a hero as “Spider-Man” or “Wolverine,” I struggled to find well-designed merchandise for my favorite superhero, so I took the opportunity to create custom designs of Wiccan myself. Although this is not all the custom work I’ve done of Wiccan, these are some of my favorite pieces.

A look behind the curtain.
Stickers: These stickers start with sketches in Procreate. I then took them into Illustrator and worked out my base shapes for them. I then would move on to adding the colors. Finally, for those needing it, additional effects would be added with Photoshop. My goal was something minimalist and cartoonish, wanting to achieve a “cute” appeal to the designs.
T-Shirts: The shirt designs were primarily created using Illustrator after completing sketches in Procreate. Besides adding in color and gradients where necessary, not much else was needed to be done. The designs were based on the Tarot Card “The Magician,” the Corner Stamps you would find on Marvel Comic Covers, and a personal challenge for a design with a limited color palette.
Wallpapers: OLED Wallpapers are quite popular with OLED displays due to their energy efficiency. Considering Wiccan isn’t as known, it’s hard to find proper wallpapers. This design started in Procreate as a sketch, which was then taken into Illustrator for vectorizing. I added coloring and gradients and created different sizes for different displays. As well as creating a Dynamic Wallpaper for MacOS to allow the colors to change and shift throughout the day.
Title Card: Inspired by the wisps of blue in his powers and the swirly designs of his classic costume. This title card started in Illustrator after modifying a previous version of this design. Afterward, it was taken into Photoshop, where various effects were applied to achieve the desired look.
